Maimed Heart

She got home and pried out her heart

She took tissue,
dried the pouring blood

She had a nice
Dry
Heart

Using a sharp knife,
she cut a piece
larger than she'd ever cut

She took the piece
A cynic smile curling at her lips
cut them into little pieces

She burnt them
One
by
One

She took it
The remaining piece of her heart
The weight, still remaining
more than half of the heart to sacrify

She put her heart
Placed it curled in the hole of her chest and started cleaning with a smile.

Lighter the heart, lighter the conscience.
